Set Sail for Something Different

Just a small post about bigger things to come.

I’m doing a mini dive back into tutorials and learning a bunch of new stuff to get more creative with my work and keep things interesting.

Here’s a first example of some more intricate things to come. I was really happy with the results and that motivates me to get fancier. I look forward to combining new skills with new clients images in the future.

Some Beach Time with Krystal

We took some free time to hit a spot on Boca that was available temporarily. Why not shoot, of course. Even though it’s Summer in Florida, the weather has been decent and still great for photos. The water is nice and warm and a great time of the year for getting a little wet and sandy if you feel the desire.

I hope to get plenty more beach shoots down over the next couple months with some more scenes and variety to keep practicing on and really getting my beach shoot technique down and polished.

I’m also really hoping for a new full frame camera in August or September if I can shoot enough and save some of that green pulp that feeds the masses. Until then. Keep On The Grass.

Maternity on the Isle

The weather has more than warmed up here in SWFL. That means its time to get the maternity beach shoots in before Summer fully hits and outdoor shooting is just too much.

This shoot went great. The whole family stayed involved and created some great images to cherish over the years. The weather was great, the wind was blowing, and the skies were perfect for post-processing and my particular style of dramatics.

This one’s just about wrapped up and it’s about time to edit the beach maternity from tonight and last nights country wedding. That’s about it until I get the studio set up for summer mode.

Creating with Krystal

Had some sunday funday shooting this weekend with my love. We have a bit of variety and I’ll share a quick sample for now and some more later.

We did some comfortable at home style shooting, some boudoir, and she got dressed up fancy in her new outfit to do some testing for dark glam shoot in the future.

It’s nice to be doing in home studio shoots again. It helps having more control to get those finished touches I want and a more polished look than I can pull of outdoors right now.

Someday I’ll be prepared for all the shoots!

(p.s) I’ll be sharing favorites from a recent wedding day shoot soon, if you haven’t seen then on FB already.

Impromptu Boudoir

Me and Krystal did an impromptu boudoir shoot the other night. Simple works great with the right light, curves, and depth of field…and patience.

I went much brighter with this set than I normally do. I like using the brighter spots and depth of field does what shadows normally would. I was much happier once I was able to see the images after the shoot and satisfied with what was captured in a random and cramped area with on the fly planning.

I flexed the abilities of the sigma 35 art and the images came out crisp where wanted with tons of depth. Definitely a small space studio win, even if a little slow on AF on occasion.

My Digital Art & Where to find it.

I’ve been doing digital creations and graphics designs long before photography was even a thought in my creative world. It was always more website oriented back when websites looked amazing and had over the top unnecessary features. That was then and this is now though.

Now is digital art.

That’s exactly what I’ve been working on more of lately. I have a few pieces I’m particular to and they will be part of the first fine art pieces for print in our new ShootProof gallery.

I am currently trying out ShootProof and I hope it is what i’m looking for to make releasing to clients easier as well as making fine art available to possible clients. We’ll see.

A Nice start on Seniors

Shot the first Senior session of the year last week on Boca Grande with Alyssa. Once she’s done with high school it’s on to college to learn to be a psychologist and fix some of people many problems. That’s then, on to the now!

Between hanging around the lighthouse, walking some fancy streets, and running in and out of the rood on banyon street. We pulled together some nice variety. This was just a small sample of the 30+ edited selected out of the 300+ taken.

I look forward to more Senior shoots and coming up with some new ideas for my favorite location(s).

That’s Fantastic Floral

FLOWERS! FLOWERS! FLOWERS! So many wonderful flowers!

I’ve been gathering my floral photography and working on some new stuff in preparation for our fine art gallery that’s in the works. I have so many photos to go through and gather and then the gallery stuff and blah blah I wish I had someone that did all that stuff, but alas… it is but I.

Stay tuned and look out for tons of new floral creations as well as everything else I’m working on.

If not already, be sure to follow me on IG/FB @124fotografi

Head-shots with Highlights

The indoor studio is setup again and ready for those oh so shiny head-shots and portraits I love doing. Here’s a sample from a small fun head-shot shoot with Krystal from Krystal Rae Yoga. I love this background and how it looks blurred out. It also allows for cool digital effects and overlays.

Keep it creative. Accessorize.
